Source of many nutrients, it is one of the most delicious vegetables that exist, but it is also true that we sometimes don't know how to grill. For this reason, nothing better than have a look to the following three recipes with lentils so you can enjoy them at lunch time or dinner.
1- Lentils, chicken and vinaigrette salad:
This recipe is ideal for eating in summer, because it is very fresh and in addition it will provide many vitamins to feel good at this time of the year. This dish can be served as a starter or as a principal, to add to our body of carbohydrates, proteins and other nutrients. For four guests, we will need the following ingredients:
- 350 Grams of lentils
- 1 Chicken breast
- 4 Tomatoes expert
- 2 Onions (1 purple and one white)
- 100 Grams of sweet corn
- 100 Grams of arugula
- 1 Tablespoon of oregano
- 1 Tablespoon of cumin
- Ground Black Pepper
- Herbs for provencal
- Olive oil
- Salt
To prepare the vinaigrette, plus:
- 12 Mint leaves
- 1 Garlic clove
- Olive oil
- Juice of a lemon
- Salt
You can leave the lentils soak overnight or not, as you prefer. Place on fire to cook with olive oil and black pepper, oregano, cumin, salt, chopped white onion. When boiling the fire to minimize low and let Cook about 40 minutes (until tender). Drain and let cool. Tools the chicken breast, spice and seasoned with herbs to Provence. You can do them on the grill with olive oil. Prepare the vinaigrette separate follows: in Blender jar mix the garlic, mint, lemon juice and olive oil leaves until you get a light cream. 2- Cream of lentils and sweet potatoes:
It is an excellent idea for an incoming winter because it will give you many proteins and in turn to provide warmth on cold nights. The cream can be drunk as soup, for example, or as accompaniment to other dishes. It has a soft and rather sweet flavor due to the sweet potatoes. Please note not 'load' too fat preparation, so that it can be nutritious, but at the same time, light. The ingredients for four dishes of cream are:
- 250 Grams of lentils cooked
- 150 Grams of sweet potatoes
- 100 Grams of cream or cream
- 100 ml of broth with vegetables or meat
- Fresh Ginger
- Paprika
- Turmeric
- Comino
- Salt
- Olive oil
When the lentils are cooked, prepare them with leeks, garlic and Spice that you like. Add the sweet potatoes, cooked and cut into slices, then the broth, cream, salt and spices. 3- Meat with lentils:
This is a rather traditional recipe to eat lentils to taste, perfect for cold days. It is a kind of stew, but without using the sausages that do harm to those who suffer from cholesterol or high blood pressure. You can use a lean meat and is ideal for those who do regime. For four people, you'll need:
- 300 Grams of lentils
- 400 Grams of beef
- Average onion
- Medium green pepper
- 3 Tomatoes
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Half a teaspoon of cumin
- Laurel
- Ground Black Pepper
- Fresh thyme
- A teaspoon of sugar
- Olive oil
- Salt
